Thieves Targets Valuables In Summertown Burglary

A Summertown woman told deputies Monday that it appeared the person who burglarized her home had known just where to look to find her valuables.

The forty-one year old victim summoned Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies to her Highway 20 home at around 7:00 p.m. She reported that she had arrived home from work to find that someone had broken into her residence.

A window pane had been broken on the kitchen door, allowing the burglar to gain entry. Drawers in the dining room, living room and bedroom had been searched. Missing were a laptop computer, camera, a wooden jewelry box containing costume jewelry and four watches, $90 in cash, and around $10 worth of coins.

Reports show that the garage door had been broken into, also, but that nothing appeared to be missing from that area. Altogether, she estimated her loss to total $1,525.

The case remains under investigation at this time. Anyone with information regarding the crime should contact the sheriff’s department at 931-762-3626.
